Joint venture investors proposed to build Cat Lai Bridge in the form of PPP

(ĐN) - The Provincial People's Committee has just announced the recognition of the joint venture of IDICO Corporation and Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 6 on the research and implementation of the project to build a bridge to replace Cat Lai ferry ( connecting District 2, Ho Chi Minh City with H. Nhon Trach) in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

The provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to lead and coordinate with related units to formulate criteria for investor selection, submit it to the provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval as a basis for posting information on investor selection. making project proposals as prescribed. Previously, the provincial People's Committee also agreed to choose two options for the location to build Cat Lai Bridge. Specifically, under option 1 (the dossier for additional planning was approved by the Prime Minister in May 2017), the alignment of Cat Lai bridge has a connection point with My Thuy intersection project and then goes along. Nguyen Thi Dinh Street in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, then crossing Dong Nai River connecting the road to Cat Lai Port.

According to Option 2, the location of Cat Lai Bridge has the first point connected to Ring Road 2 (about 450m from Phu My toll gate, more than 1km from My Thuy intersection), then follows the internal road, cuts through Ky Ha canal in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, then cross the Dong Nai River connecting the road to Cat Lai port.

In both of these alternatives, Cat Lai Bridge is proposed to be selected for construction with a scale of 4, 6 or 8 lanes. In the coming time, the provincial authorities will work with the Ho Chi Minh City authorities to select the implementation plan.

In August 2019, the Prime Minister agreed to assign the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province to be the authorized state agency to implement the Cat Lai Bridge construction project.
